Children. Children’s classes are booked by a parent or guardian. Photos of children are only used if the parent or guardian has agreed.
Who we share data with
We never sell your data. We only share it with organisations that help us run our services, under contracts that protect it:
- Our website hosting and secure backup providers
- Stripe (card donations) — Stripe privacy policy
- Our email provider (to send confirmations and reminders)
- Google — only if you allow analytics or external media (maps, videos) in your cookie settings
- WhatsApp (Meta) — only if you choose to contact us on WhatsApp
We may refer you to another service (for example a solicitor or the council) only with your agreement. We share information with the Gardaí, Tusla or other authorities only where the law requires it or someone is at risk of serious harm.
Some of these providers may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where they do, they use legal safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.
How we protect it
The website uses encrypted connections (HTTPS). Staff access is password-protected and limited to people who need it. We keep regular backups and train our team and volunteers to keep information confidential.
Your rights
You can ask us to: see the data we hold about you; correct it; delete it; limit or object to how we use it; give you a copy to take elsewhere; and withdraw any consent you gave. Contact info@somalicentre.ie. We will reply within one month and may ask you to confirm who you are. It is free.
If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Data Protection Commission: www.dataprotection.ie.
