Social welfare payments

The Department of Social Protection pays support such as Jobseeker’s, Child Benefit, One-Parent Family Payment and Disability Allowance. Most payments are applied for online or at your local Intreo centre.

  1. Check which payment fits your situation on Citizens Information.
  2. Apply on MyWelfare.ie or at your local Intreo centre.
  3. Answer any letters quickly — late replies can stop a payment.
  4. Tell them about changes (new job, new address, new baby).
