Renewing your Irish Residence Permit (IRP)
If you live in Ireland on an immigration permission you must renew it before your IRP card expires. Most renewals in Dublin are done online.
- Start your renewal early — Immigration Service Delivery advises applying up to 12 weeks before your permission expires.
- Apply on the online renewal system on irishimmigration.ie.
- Upload your documents and pay the fee online (check the current fee on the website).
- Post your passport only if you are asked to. Keep copies of everything you send.
- Your new IRP card is posted to you.
Not sure which permission you have, or your permission has expired? Book an immigration appointment with us before you apply.
